Alfred A. Loeb State Park
Located on the wild and scenic Chetco River, the Alfred A. Loeb State Park contains the northernmost redwood grove in the U.S. The park is nestled in a grove of 200-year-old myrtlewood trees where you can marvel at the osprey and eagles as they carry their catch to their nests. You can fish, swim or raft in the Chetco, or investigate the stream side nature trail. The Chetco offers some of the finest salmon and steelheads fishing so sit back relax and enjoy your vacation while you wait to haul in your catch.
From the camping area, there is a 3/4 mile long riverview hike to the Redwood Nature Trail.
Facilities include 3 log cabins, 48 campsites and restrooms, paved parking, picnic tables, firerings, flush toilets and hot showers. Campsites cannot be reserved in advance. However, the 3 cabins that can be reserved.

The Alfred A. Leob State Park is located just over 8 miles (13 km) from Brookings, on the Oregon Coast. To reach the park, turn east of US Highway 101, just north of the Chetco river bridge onto Constitution Road and immediately right onto North Bank Chetco River Road and follow to the park.

Chetco River
The Chetco river travels through the heart of Brookings - Harbor ending in a beautiful harbor which is home to commercial and pleasure ocean fishing boats.
The Chetco runs from the Kalmiopsis Wilderness for 55 mi (88 km) and has been designated a Wild and Scenic River. Major activities include salmon and steelhead fishing, whitewater kayaking, four wheel driving, swimming, boating, camping, sightseeing, picnicking and hiking.
